Stasha-Gae Roberts is a board-certified adult-gerontology primary care nurse practitioner, U.S. Army Veteran, and founder of Compassion Primary Care, an integrative, root-cause Direct Primary Care practice serving the Tampa Bay–Suncoast region of Florida. She combines conventional primary care with integrative therapies to help patients understand what may be happening beneath the surface and move from confusion to clarity, with a particular heart for women in midlife who feel exhausted, know something is off, and keep being told their labs are normal.
Her care is personal, not transactional; thoughtful, not rushed; rooted in evidence, not guesswork. With a deliberately small patient panel, she has the time to listen closely, investigate thoroughly, and speak plainly, translating real clinical findings into language patients can actually use. Her practice is faith-informed and grounded in Christian values, and it welcomes patients of any background who want honest, whole-person care.
Stasha-Gae Roberts brings 26 years of nursing experience, including more than 12 years in advanced practice. Born in Jamaica, she moved to the United States at age seven, first living in Long Island, New York, before her family relocated to Miami, Florida, where she graduated high school. She attended the University of Florida, majoring in nursing. Inspired by an Army recruiter, she was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant and, after completing officer basic training in San Antonio, Texas, served four rewarding years as an Army nurse officer at Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Fort Gordon, Georgia.
After an honorable discharge, she settled in Tampa and pursued advanced education, earning a Master of Public Health, a Master of Science in Nursing, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice. She has practiced as a nurse practitioner since 2014 and opened Compassion Primary Care on January 4, 2021, to offer patients a more personal and thoughtful model of care. Her public health background brings a prevention-oriented, whole-systems lens, while her military service adds discipline, steadiness, and follow-through.
Stasha believes symptoms deserve to be understood in context, not dismissed in isolation, and that "normal labs" do not always explain why a patient feels unwell. Her approach is integrative but not anti-conventional: she expands the lens of primary care to include time, relationship, and root-cause investigation across hormones, thyroid, gut health, sleep, stress, metabolism, nutrition, and inflammation.
Her hallmark is honest care, not comfortable care. She validates what patients are experiencing while being clear that meaningful, lasting results come from careful investigation, a real plan, active participation, and time, not quick fixes or guaranteed outcomes. Faith shapes the posture of her care through compassion, dignity, honesty, and service, offered to those who want it and never imposed.
